Become a SSKO GO Day Volunteer!

We like to invite you to join us as a volunteer for our 2025 Safe Summer Kickoff Get Outdoors Day event. Support from superb partners like yours helped us attract over 80 exhibitors and over 4,000 attendees at SSKO GO Day in 2024.

Our primary purpose for hosting this event is to connect Southwest Denver communities with local organizations, agencies, businesses, and governments that are interested in collaborating with them to help them improve their quality of life. It also serves as an excellent forum for Southwest Denver to come together as a community and express their rich cultural heritage and promote diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility. This free, family-friendly event will promote safety, healthy living, and outdoor activities, while including a resource fair, music, live entertainment, activities, and more.

Safe Summer Kickoff Get Outdoors Day is made possible because of our amazing partners who help support our work for the community. Here are a few reasons to support the SSKO GO event:

▪ Connect to SW Denver communities and surrounding areas through this large-scale event.
▪ Bring awareness to your organization’s resources, services, and programming.
▪ Promote safe, healthy, and active living opportunities to the community during the summer.
▪ Support under-resourced communities and deliver key messages to attendees.
▪ Extend agencies partnership setting and network with like-minded organizations.
▪ Provide support costs for booth space.
▪ Encourage healthy outdoor fun by introducing kids and first-time participants to outdoor recreation opportunities.
▪ Promote an intentional, inclusive, and safe outdoor space for the Southwest Denver communities to explore adventure activities, such as fishing, hiking, climbing, biking, boating, navigation and exploring nature.
▪ Opportunity for your agency to volunteer at the event and give back.

We have the following volunteer shifts:

  • Set up: Are you an early riser? Assist with setting up the resource fair, information booth, exhibitor and volunteer sign up, signage, stage, etc. Help with directing incoming exhibitor traffic.
  • Check-In Area: Being the first point of contact when community arrives. Work the sign-in table, get people their event passport, door prize ticket, food ticket and explain the event process to ensure attendees know about all the great resources.
  • Host: Are you a people person who wants to roam around the park on a fine summer day Provide event information to visitors, assist photographers and videographers as they capture the fun, assist with activities and performances, etc.
  • Clean up: Do you care about taking care of our city parks? Help take down the information booth, exhibitor booths, signage and help us Leave No Trace at the park by cleaning up any trash and recyclables left behind.

If you have question on the registration, please contact Andrew Garcia at Andrew.G@denveryouthprogram.org
